👻 How to play Maze Muncher

Maze Muncher is one of the great video game classics: you move through a maze eating every dot while dodging the ghosts chasing you. Easy to learn and extremely addictive.

The goal

Eat every dot in the maze to move on to the next level, without getting caught by the ghosts. You start with 5 lives and earn an extra life for every level you clear (up to 9); the game ends when you run out of lives.

How to play step by step

1. Press Start and move through the maze with the arrow keys (on a computer) or the on-screen buttons, or by swiping your finger (on mobile).
2. Keep eating dots. Once none are left, you level up to a new maze.
3. Dodge the ghosts: if they touch you, you lose a life.
4. The power pellets in the corners give you power: for a few seconds the ghosts turn blue and you can eat them for 200 points each.

Tricks and strategy

• Save the power pellets: don't eat them right away; save them for when you have several ghosts nearby so you can eat them all at once.
• Use the intersections: at crossroads you can change direction to throw off the ghosts, which usually head straight for you.
• Don't box yourself in: avoid heading into dead ends with a ghost behind you.
• Clear zone by zone: clear the maze in sections so you don't leave stray dots in dangerous spots.

With a bit of practice you'll learn to read the ghosts' movements and chain together faster and faster levels.

Maze Muncher has its own global ranking: your best score is saved. Go to Ranking, the 🕹️ 1 Player tab, choose "Maze Muncher" from the dropdown, and compare your score with other players, synced to your account. For your result to count you need a free account on MundoSudoku (just a username and password, no email required): you can play without one, but without logging in your score won't be saved to the ranking.
