🔡 How to play Anagrams

By Miguel Arechaga

Anagrams are one of those word games that hook you instantly: you see a handful of scrambled letters and your brain can't help but try to rearrange them. Besides being fun, they're a great exercise for expanding your vocabulary and sharpening your mind. In this guide we explain how to play and which tricks help you solve them faster.

What is an anagram?

An anagram is a word formed by rearranging the letters of another. In this game you start from a word with its letters scrambled, and your goal is to place them in the correct order to rebuild the original word, using every single letter.

How to play step by step

  1. You'll see a word with its letters scrambled into tiles.
  2. Tap the tiles in the order you think is correct: each letter fills a slot above.
  3. If you make a mistake, use Clear to remove the last letter placed.
  4. Once you've filled every slot, the word is checked automatically. If you're right, your streak goes up and you move to the next one.
  5. If you get stuck, tap Hint to place the next correct letter.

Benefits of playing Anagrams

Playing Anagrams improves vocabulary, spelling and verbal fluency, and trains working memory by keeping several letters in mind while you try combinations. It's an ideal pastime to warm up your mind any time of day.

🏆 Streak ranking

Anagrams has its own global ranking: your longest streak of correctly solved anagrams in a row is saved. Go to Ranking, the 🕹️ 1 Player tab, choose "Anagrams" from the dropdown, and compare your score with other players, synced to your account. For your result to count you need a free account on MundoSudoku (just a username and password, no email required): you can play without one, but without logging in your score won't be saved to the ranking.
