⛳ How to play Mini Golf
By Miguel Arechaga
Mini Golf blends aim and power calculation: drag the ball backward to aim and release to hit it. With obstacles, wall rebounds, and a hole that gets smaller in the distance, every stroke counts. Here are the rules and how to lower your score across the 5 holes.
What is Mini Golf?
It's a game of aim and physics where you have to sink the ball in the hole using as few strokes as possible, avoiding obstacles and using rebounds off the walls of the course to your advantage.
How to play, step by step
- Click or tap the white ball and drag backward to aim; you'll see a line showing direction and power.
- Release the mouse or your finger to hit it: the more you drag, the stronger the shot.
- Avoid the gray obstacles and use wall rebounds to your advantage.
- Every shot counts until the ball goes into the black hole.
- Complete all 5 holes of the round to see your total score and compare it with your record.
Strategy: less power, more precision
The most common mistake in Mini Golf is always hitting hard to cover distance. In reality, the closer you are to the hole, the more a soft, calculated shot is worth over a hard one: a hard shot near the hole tends to overshoot or bounce unpredictably off nearby obstacles. Use power shots only to cover most of the distance, and save soft shots for the final stretch.
Also make use of the walls: on holes with obstacles lined up straight toward the hole, a calculated rebound off a side wall can be more direct than trying to dodge the obstacle head-on.
Quick tips
- Before hitting, look at the whole aiming line, not just the initial direction.
- On holes with narrow walls, aim at the center of the corridor, not straight at the hole.
- If you're left very close to the hole, a minimal tap is almost always better than risking a medium shot.
With patience on the short shots, you'll bring your total score down much more than you'd expect.
Play online with 2 players
You can play Mini Golf against another person in several ways: press "🌐 Online" and create a room to share a 4-letter code with whoever you want to challenge, use "🔍 Find opponent" to have the system instantly match you with another available player, or add a friend by their username from the 👥 Friends panel (while signed in) and press "Challenge" next to their name to invite them directly to a match. You can also both play on the same device by pressing "👥 2 players": you take turns, with the white ball and the orange ball.
🏆 Wins ranking
All your online Mini Golf matches are recorded on your account: every win (and every loss) adds to your history. Go to Ranking, the 🎮 2 Players tab, choose "Mini Golf" from the dropdown, and check your position against other players, synced across all your devices. For your result to count you need a free account on MundoSudoku (just a username and password, no email required): you can play without one, but without signing in your score isn't saved to the ranking.
