Flow is one of those minimalist puzzles that hook you instantly: a handful of colored dots on a grid and one simple rule. But as the board grows, finding a way to connect everything without crossing paths becomes a genuinely satisfying logic challenge. Here's how to play and a few tricks.
What is Flow?
Flow (sometimes called connect the colors or pipes) is played on a grid with several pairs of colored dots. The goal is to join each pair with a continuous path of the same color, without the paths crossing, and filling every square.
How to play step by step
- Drag from one colored dot to the other one of the same color to trace its path.
- Paths can't cross: if you pass over another one, you cut it.
- Connecting the colors isn't enough: to clear the level you have to fill the entire board without leaving gaps.
- If a path isn't working, drag from its dot again to redo it.
Tricks to solve Flow
- Start with the colors in the corners and edges: they usually have only one possible path.
- Remember that every square must end up filled; if you have a gap left over, some path needs to route around it.
- Think of the paths as pieces that need to fit together: if one takes up a lot of space, another will have to go around the outside.
- If you get stuck, undo the color taking up the most space and look for a longer route that fills the gaps.
Why it's so addictive
Flow blends logic with a touch of relaxation: no clock, no pressure, just you and the board. It's perfect for training spatial reasoning and planning, and every level you clear leaves that satisfying feeling of a puzzle neatly closed.
