🎴 How to play Chinchón online free

By Miguel Arechaga

Chinchón is one of the most beloved card games in Spain and Latin America: it's played with the Spanish deck and the idea is to combine your cards so you're left with as few points as possible. On MundoSudoku you can play it online, free and with no real money, in rooms with other players and with bots that fill the table. Here are the rules and how to win.

Getting started

Open the Chinchón page. You have three options: hit "Play now" to start instantly at a table with bots, create a room (public or private with a code to play only with your friends), or join a public room from the list. If you're logged in, your games count toward the ranking; if not, you still play as a guest.

The goal and the melds

You get 7 cards. The goal is to arrange them into melds so you're left with the fewest possible "loose" cards. There are two kinds of meld:

Any card that isn't part of a meld is your deadwood and counts against you.

Your turn: draw and discard

On each turn you do two things:

  1. Draw a card, either from the deck (face down) or by taking the top card of the discard pile (which you can see).
  2. Discard a card (tap it and press "Discard") to go back to 7.

The game always shows how much deadwood you have with your best possible arrangement, so you know where you stand.

Closing and the Chinchón

When your loose cards add up to 5 points or fewer, you can close instead of a normal discard: that ends the round. Two important details:

Scoring: how you reach 100

When a round is closed, each player adds to their score the value of their deadwood cards. Each card is worth:

Chinchón is played to 100 points: unlike other games, fewer points is better. The player who reaches 100 is knocked out, and the last one standing wins the game. That's why it pays to close early when you have little deadwood instead of pushing your luck.

Rooms, bots and reconnection

Tables are for 2 to 4 players. You can create a private room with a code and share it with friends, or fill the empty seats with bots to start without waiting. If you disconnect, your seat is kept for a while so you can reconnect, and every turn has a timer so the game never stalls.

Ranking and stats

If you play while logged in, everything counts toward the ranking. Go to Ranking🌐 Online Rooms🎴 Chinchón and you'll see the points leaderboard with Global, Week and Month periods. You earn points for playing, for closing rounds, for each Chinchón and, above all, for winning the game. Tap your name to open your profile with your stats: games, games won, win rate and chinchóns.

Do I need to sign up?

You don't need to in order to play: you can do it as a guest. But if you log in, your results are saved and you appear on the ranking with your name. Remember: this is a 100% free game, with no real money or prizes, recommended for players over 18.
