π How to play XV Sudoku
- The sudoku rules apply: 1 through 9 with no repeats in each row, column, and 3x3 box.
- An X between two neighboring squares means their numbers sum to 10 (for example 6 and 4).
- A V means they sum to 5 (for example 2 and 3). Remember: X is worth 10 and V is worth 5 in Roman numerals.
- Important: if there's no mark between two neighbors, they sum to neither 5 nor 10. Each puzzle has a unique solution.
π‘ Tip: a V can only be formed with 1+4 or 2+3, so V marks are very restrictive. The absence of a mark also rules out certain pairs.
