Install MundoSudoku as an App on Your Phone (Free, No App Store)

Big news at MundoSudoku: you can now carry the site in your pocket as if it were an app. Its own icon on your home screen, opening full screen without the browser bar, and something most downloads never give you: sudoku and dozens of games that work even without an internet connection. No Google Play, no App Store, no sign-ups, and barely any storage space.

What exactly is it?

It's what's technically called a PWA (Progressive Web App): the same website as always, but prepared so your phone treats it like an app. Installing it doesn't download anything from a store; your browser saves the site and gives it an icon. That's why it takes up so little space (a few megabytes), updates itself every time you go online, and never asks for strange permissions.

What you get by installing it

• An icon on your home screen: one tap and you're playing.
• Full screen: no address bar or tabs, just like any app.
• Play offline: sudoku, minesweeper, tetris, solitaire, chess against the computer and many more work on the subway, on a plane, or anywhere without coverage.
• Always up to date: as soon as you're back online, it refreshes itself.
• Free, like everything at MundoSudoku.

One thing to know: online games (bingo, poker, chinchón, 4-player parcheesi and code-based matches) need an internet connection, since you play against other people. The daily sudoku and the ranking do too, as they're checked on the server.

How to install it on Android

1. Open mundosudoku.com/en/ in Chrome.
2. Tap the "📲 Install app" button next to the sudoku controls (or the prompt Chrome shows at the bottom).
3. Confirm and that's it: the MundoSudoku icon appears on your home screen.

If you don't see the button, you can also tap Chrome's ⋮ menu and choose "Install app".

How to install it on iPhone and iPad

In Safari, Apple does it in two manual steps:

1. Tap the Share button (the square with the arrow pointing up).
2. Choose "Add to Home Screen" and confirm.

What about on a computer?

That works too: in Chrome or Edge you'll see an install icon on the right side of the address bar. One click and MundoSudoku opens in its own window, like any other program.

Does it take up space? Is it safe?

It's tiny: the whole site saved for offline play is around 4 MB — less than a photo. And it's as safe as visiting the website, because it is the website: it installs nothing on your system, can't access your files or contacts, and you can uninstall it any time by long-pressing the icon, like any app.
